A high profile project to brand and enhance Toshiba Medical Systems’ latest transportable scanner units gets an official unveiling in Liverpool.

The two systems – the latest Toshiba Elan MRI transportable and the first fully mobile CT trailer unit – were both fabricated by our long-standing customer, Bence Coachworks, and represent significant additions to Toshiba Medical Systems’ UK offering. They can be deployed to hospitals and medical units throughout the UK as an interim solution while new fixed scanners are being installed or existing systems are serviced, ensuring an uninterrupted service to patients. They are the third and fourth units that AllSigns has completed for Toshiba.

While the external livery scheme had to ensure a dynamic brand-compliant impact,  the interior posed a very different challenge as Kevin Willis, AllSigns’ Business Development Manager, explains: “The systems represent incredible technology but the reality is that the end users – patients – are in a vulnerable state of mind. Experiencing an MRI or CT scan is not pleasant and enduring that in an enclosed space has the potential to be really unsettling. We created a solution that aimed not to bring the outside in, but take those patients somewhere else entirely.”

Bespoke wallpaper of bright woodland works in conjunction with the wood-effect flooring to push the horizon far into the distance, while light boxes on the wall and in the ceiling illuminate landscapes and sky respectively, bathing the whole environment in a very natural and positive light.

Held at the ACC Arena in Liverpool, UKRC is the leading and largest diagnostic imaging event in the UK, where many of the world’s leading manufacturers preview and launch new products. Toshiba’s units were officially unveiled by Olympic gold medallist Tessa Sanderson, and the new CT trailer in particular was received to great acclaim with interest generated throughout the medical world.
